The Royal Couple Travel to Ottawa on Day 3

William and Kate have started the third day of their Canadian tour with a tree-planting ceremony at Government House that has become a royal family tradition.

Prince Charles, Princess Diana, and Queen Elizabeth II have all planted trees on previous visits to Rideau Hall, the official residece of both the Canadian monarch and Governor General of Canada.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge each wielded a shovel as they planted a Canadian hemlock — an evergreen tree known for its longevity.

Kate wore a mid-length, above-the-knee grey, Kensington shift dress, from Catherine Walker (a favourite designer of the late Princess Diana).
The dress has a dramatic deep v-back and eye-catching detailing around the neckline, with an angled collar folded down against the dress (a hot trend seen on the Spring runways of Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and Phillip Lim). The Duchess wore her hair loose, allowing it to rest against the dress. She is carrying a matching suede clutch from Hobbs London (Somerton Bag £99) and wearing a pair of pointed Tabitha Simmons greige pumps.

Next, the couple will head to the Canadian War Museum, where about 1,500 spectators are waiting to greet them.

I think I have found the designer for Kate's shoes...I'm thinking it's Tabitha Simmons.

Close up of Kate's shoes - they appear to be lizard skin
The lizard skin on the heel and toe of shoes are very close to the lizard skin above in Kate's shoes. These shoes are from last seasons collection. I will update once Tabitha Simmons releases her new collection.

Our wonderful follower Ainsleigh has sent me the following update "HRH shoes have been confirmed by Tabitha Simmons' rep. and they will be part of her A/W 11 Collection!"

Update 8/22/2011
