The meeting was a chance for the couple to greet staff and their families and thank them for their service. Many have recently served on operations overseas.

Thousands of people lined the quays of Auckland's Viaduct Harbour to greet the royal couple and cheer them on as they sailed out in the rival boats with Team New Zealand.

They set sail  around Auckland's Waitemata Harbor in two America's Cup yachts after doing a bit of trash-talking. The Duke was in NZL 41, which previously raced under the Japanese flag in the Louis Vuitton series and the Duchess was in NZL 68, a former training boat for Team New Zealand. Kate finally pulled off the win!

Following their fierce competition, the royals took a ride across the harbor in an amphibious Sealegs boat, which they took turns steering.

Upon their return to shore, they were given a miniature Sealegs custom-made for Prince George. From there, they will be transported back to their jet and home to their little Prince.
